(Victorville)– –VVCH will repeat the popular drive thru flu shot clinics for the 2012-13 flu season on Thursday, November 15th from 6:30am to 10:30am. The flu vaccines will be administered via drive-thru clinic at the main entrance driveway of the hospital on Eleventh Street. There will be a $2.00 cost per person. Two-hundred (200) vaccines will be available on a first come, first served basis and will be administered only to ages 12 and older. Signs will be posted directing participants to the driveway entrance.
Victor Valley Community Hospital is located at 15248 Eleventh Street in Victorville. Adults who wish to receive the vaccine will take Hesperia Road North to B Street, then East on B Street to Eleventh Street and then South on Eleventh Street. Signs and traffic control will be available to direct traffic. Participants who are currently ill, have had previous reactions to flu vaccines or have ever had Guillain-Barre syndrome will not be able to receive the flu vaccine. Participants with severe egg allergies should not receive the flu vaccine. All participants will be screened by nursing staff before the flu vaccine will be administered. At the discretion of nursing staff, some participants may be denied vaccine based upon screening criteria.
