Demo Garden Offers Water-Wise Garden Tips

By Staff Reports

(Victorville)–Spring is right around the corner, and it’s time to think about gardens. A visit to Mojave Water Agency’s Demonstration Garden offers examples of outdoor water efficiency techniques, as well as beautiful plants that thrive in the High Desert. Open to the public during regular business hours, the garden is located at MWA Headquarters, 13846 Conference Center Drive in Apple Valley.

The garden provides learning opportunities for home gardeners and landscape professionals, as well as students. Designed in hydrozones, grouping plants with similar water needs together, visitors can learn sustainable gardening techniques and ways to reduce evaporation.

Self-guided tours may be taken during regular business hours, and staff-led tours for school groups, clubs, and organizations are available by appointment. To arrange a staff-led tour, contact Gloria Golike at
