(Apple Valley)–April is recognized nationally as Child Abuse Prevention Month. Last Year in San Bernardino County, five children were murdered and 1,550 criminal child abuse-related cases were filed, according to a county District Attorney’s office news release. Alpha Connection’s Blue Ribbon Campaign is a community wide effort to recognize our collective responsibility to prevent and confront all forms of child abuse and neglect. Child abuse is entirely preventable, but not without your help. Here in Apple Valley, there are several opportunities for the community to promote and participate in Child Abuse Prevention Month activities, by attending our event. This event will include activities planned by several agencies and well as provide information on Child Abuse, Awareness, Education and Prevention. Alpha Connection Youth & Family Services of Apple Valley will host the ceremony which begins at 10AM and is free for the public to attend. Refreshments and snacks will be available. We will also be raffling off an X BOX-360 along with other prizes. Local officials, families, law enforcement, businesses and community agencies will join together to proclaim April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Apple Valley, CA. Following a brief ceremony, guests are invited to tie blue ribbons along a tree to serve as a visual reminder of child victims of abuse and neglect. Alpha Connection is a California Non-Profit Corporation # 00-0350611. For further information call 760-247-7930 or visit us www.alphaconnection.org .

We are happy to announce, Mayor Town of Apple Valley Curt Emick as our Guest Speaker.
