(Apple Valley) As the sun beat down intensely on the town of Apple Valley, community members and leaders came together Saturday at Lion’s Part to learn about conservation tips for our environment, and to have some fun as well. The second annual Spring Conservation Fair by the Apple Valley Ranchos Water Company brought knowledge, music, plants, fun and even prizes.
The event was aimed at informing the community on various tips and strategies on how best to conserve water, especially out here in the unique environment known as the High Desert. From low flow toilets, to landscaping, pool safety and more, the event had plenty of information to help everyone conserve a bit more. Kids also had activities that were not only fun, but educational as well, like the treasure hunt.
Apple Valley resident Anna Perez took a minute from visiting the booths to let us know what her and her children thought of the event. “I think it’s a very great event, teaching us how to conserve water and save on our water. “ When asked on the highlights of the event for her and her family, Perez replied, “All the giveaways they are giving, the kids are enjoying the treasure hunt and all the other stuff they are doing for the community.”
You can learn more about the event in the video by High Desert Daily, which includes interviews with Apple Valley Rancho employees, as well as pictures of the demonstration garden and more.
