(Victor Valley)–Companies who do business in or with the Town of Apple Valley are encouraged to attend the Mayor’s Business Roundtable on May 3 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Apple Valley Conference Center.
Join Mayor Curt Emick, Town Manager Frank Robinson and key staff members for coffee, continental breakfast and conversation about important topics that affect local businesses.
“For many businesses, success hinges on a solid business plan, good customer service and a positive working relationship with the community and local government,” said Mayor Curt Emick. “This event will provide a forum for businesses to get their important questions answered and widen their pathway to success.”
Staff from nearly every Town Department that a business may need to interact with will be available for questions and answers. Among the many topics on the priority list is an explanation of the Town’s Local Preference Ordinance, a policy that gives local businesses a 5% advantage when bidding on qualified jobs.
Additionally, staff will demonstrate the Town’s business web page and survey participants on what components of a Shop Local program would most benefit them and their clients.
“As a former local business owner, and now Mayor, I believe we need to bridge the gap between private sector businesses and local government,” said Mayor Emick. “Moving forward in that mission, this roundtable helps everyone assess our business programs in a comfortable and open environment.”
The Conference Center is located at 14975 Dale Evans Parkway adjacent to Town Hall. Reservations are appreciated at (760) 240-7000 x7074 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
