(Victor Valley)–The Today’s Woman Foundation signature Mother’s Day Luncheon is returning this year. Under new leadership there is a renewed and robust vision that has been created, “…providing what is necessary to help a woman enhance her quality of life,” says Carolina Barajas the newly appointed Foundation President,
In the tradition of the annual Mother’s Day Luncheon on Thursday, May 9, 11am-2pm at the Courtyard by Marriott in Hesperia we will celebrate extraordinary and inspiring women and share how the Today’s Woman Foundation is moving forward with a new broader vision to better serve the women of the High Desert.
Over the past 12 years the Today’s Woman Foundation mission has been to
“Empower women through the delivery of resources to enhance body, mind and spirit.” The Today’s Woman Foundation along with business partners have helped to raise approximately $360,000. Those partnerships and support of the community made possible the signature Today’s Woman Expo to over 25,000 attendees, which has featured celebrity keynote speakers, Ann Jillian, Suzanne Somers, Diahann Carroll, Vickie Lawrence, the late Dixie Carter, Barbara Eden & Marcia Wallace. We brought Dr. Susan Love, expert & renowned physician specializing in Breast Cancer research and treatment to the High Desert. We have honored over 100 local women recognizing them collaboratively with the Daily Press since 2007. We have awarded over $12,000 to eleven women experiencing a serious medical condition.
Our new vision and goal is to provide outreach throughout the year consisting of health screenings, women’s wellness classes, and increasing the number of financial awards and assistance to women seeking to further their education in addition to those facing a serious healthcare challenge. We have formed a new Advisory Council and recruited some new Foundation Board Members to help us move forward and successfully achieve our goals of service and sustainability.
Please join us this year at the Today’s Woman Annual “Inspiring Woman” Mother’s Day Luncheon where we will recognize the 2013 Daily Press “Inspiring Woman” Honorees and announce the New Vision, New Goals, & Broader Outreach of The Today’s Woman Foundation and enjoy featured special guests.
