(Apple Valley)– The Town of Apple Valley Clerk’s office is responsible for the management, storage and dissemination of information vital to our community.
Fortunately, the town has employees like Debra Thomas to manage it all, which is one of the reasons why she was selected as the Town’s Employee of the Quarter at Tuesday’s council meeting.
“Debra is an expert in the retrieval of documents and information,” explained Town Manager Frank Robinson. “She exhibits a teamwork attitude and take a proactive approach to assignments that makes her an invaluable resource to the Town and its citizens.”
Since switching over to an electronic system, the department has scanned 2,031,692 pages or 78,573 documents. This may seem overwhelming, but fortunately, Deputy Clerk Debra Thomas is one of the dedicated personnel that oversees these operations.
“The citizens of Apple Valley deserve excellent customer service and one of the primary functions of the Town Clerk’s office is to provide them just that,” said Thomas. “Whether it be providing records, or offering backup assistance when processing passports or notarizations, I do my best to provide them with prompt service. It truly puts a smile on my face when they walk away happy.”
Her coworkers describe her as always being helpful and prompt, always going the extra distance to make sure she has done everything possible to provide exactly what is being asked for when information or records are requested.
Debra has worked with the town for more than four years. She was recognized for her achievement at the April 30 council meeting.
