(Victor Valley)–Kathi Payne, a veteran administrator with San Bernardino County, has been named deputy chief of staff for First District Supervisor Robert Lovingood.
Payne, a resident of Hesperia, has served in several county positions including as town manager of Calico Ghost Town and marketing manager with County Regional Parks Department, elections analyst for the Registrar of Voters and as a representative for former Third District Supervisor Dennis Hansberger. Payne also served as legislative analyst and district director for former 34th District Assemblyman Keith Olberg.
“I am proud Kathi has joined our team,” Lovingood said. “In addition to her record of accomplishments, Kathi brings a wealth of institutional knowledge that will serve the public well.”
As deputy chief of staff, Payne will oversee First District staff operations which include constituent services and community outreach, as well as government relations within the county and in partnership with outside agencies.
“This office largely serves as a liaison, a bridge so to speak, between county government and the residents of the First District,” said Payne. “I am honored and excited to serve with the highly professional team that has been assembled by Supervisor Lovingood.”
