(Victor Valley)– Recently, the Greater Hope Foundation introduced a new program called “Project Wish.” Created to give children in care hope and the belief that wishes, no matter how big or small, can come true if you put your mind to it.
Each month, foster children are asked to write an essay about what they would do if they had $200. The essays are then given to an independent panel who decides on the Essay Winner for the month. Cheryl Zwarkowski, an elite endurance athlete and 4-time finisher of the Badwater 135 mile Ultramarathon and the Brazil 217, has picked GHF’s Project Wish as her charity of choice, to raise funds for this year’s Badwater 135 Ultramarathon.
Recognized globally as “the world’s toughest foot race”, the legendary Badwater 135 Ultramarathon pits approximately 90 of the world’s toughest athletes-runners, triathletes, adventure racers, and mountaineers against one another and the elements. Covering 135 miles, non-stop, from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, CA, in temperatures up to 130F, it is the most demanding and extreme running race offered anywhere on the planet.
