(Hesperia)– The Hesperia Animal Shelter is hosting an Open House on Saturday, July 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in support of the shelter’s participation in the ASPCA/Rachael Ray 100k Challenge.
The Open House will feature refreshments and activities for the entire family, including bounce houses, face painting and a kids-fun booth. The event will also feature special, $15 adoption pricing, which will include spay/neuter, vaccinations, food, microchip, grooming and a veterinary check-up.
The Hesperia Animal Shelter is proud to be one of 50 shelters nationwide to qualify for the adoption challenge, which runs June – August. The goal of the challenge is to dramatically reduce the number of homeless pets in the community through adoption and the reuniting of lost pets with their owners. In June, the Hesperia Animal Shelter adopted or reunited almost 300 pets, representing a 150% increase over the same period last year. Grant monies are awarded by the ASPCA to those shelters that either dramatically increase pet adoptions and/or increase the return of lost pets.
Shelter animals make wonderful pets. If you are looking to adopt a pet, please stop by the Open House or visit the City website at www.cityofhesperia.us to view animals available for adoption.
