(Victor Valley)– A nationwide government association that includes members from Canada awarded the Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for a 3rd consecutive year.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has recognized VVWRA for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The report was judged by an impartial panel and met the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story, according to a statement from the Association.
“I couldn’t be more proud of our finance team, that continues to prove that transparency and financial accountability is our number one priority” said Logan Olds, General Manager of VVWRA. “The job we do is essential to protecting public health, but equally as important is to show our ratepayers that we are good stewards of public monies.”
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C.
“The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management,” added Stephen Gauthier, a director with the association.
The Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority is an independent agency that is equally governed by leaders from its member agencies, which include Apple Valley, Hesperia, Victorville, Oro Grande and Spring Valley Lake.
