Limited Seats Remain for Rep. Cook’s Women of Distinction Ceremony

(Victor Valley)– Rep. Paul Cook (R-Yucca Valley) announced today that only a few seats remain available for the first annual 8th Congressional District Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony on Friday, August 23. The ceremony begins at 10:00AM at the Apple Valley Town Conference Center, located at 14955 Dale Evans Parkway, Apple Valley, CA 92307. There is no cost to attend, and light refreshments will be served.

At the event, Rep. Cook will honor 60 women from the district for their positive contributions to their respective communities. The ceremony will include a performance by the Granite Hills High School Orchestra.

“I was astounded by the interest this event received from the public,” said Rep. Cook. “It shows that there are people in our communities who care about making the 8th District a better place to live. I’m truly thankful for the work these women do, and the ceremony will be a great way for others to express their appreciation.”

A member of the House Armed Services, Veterans’ Affairs, and Foreign Affairs Committees, Cook is a former educator who served as an infantry officer and retired as a Colonel after 26 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal with valor device and two Purple Hearts for actions in combat.
