Big Fat Steve Band To Entertain Pets And Their Parents At Paws N’ Claws Pet Fair

By Staff Reports

(Apple Valley)– Enjoy a concert in the park while learning about all of the latest pet innovations and services at this year’s Paws N’ Claws Pet Fair, sponsored by Shear Realty.

This eighth annual event has grown from a quaint activity at a nearby park to the biggest celebration of all things furry, scaly, finned and feathered offered in the High Desert.  The festivities will be held at Civic Center Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. September 21 and will include a concert headlined by the Big Fat Steve Band, a local favorite that drew a large crowd at the Sunset Concert Series this summer.  Patrons to the event can listen to the band’s upbeat country rockabilly sound while they take advantage of many services and vendors that will make the day a must for any pet lover.

This year’s offerings include:

  • Licensing for pets in Apple Valley, Adelanto, Victorville & San Bernardino County
  • Low-cost vaccines
  • Pet adoptions
  • Microchip services
  • Snake avoidance training
  • Kid’s area
  • Fly ball and agility demonstrations
  • Dog races
  • Giveaways and drawings
  • And much more!

New this year is an art contest where participants can enter handmade, animal-themed jewelry, photography, needle craft, “green” or other art for a chance at a prize. Entries and a $10 fee must be received at the pet fair between 10 and 11 a.m. Voting ends at 2 p.m.

Enter to win a free spay/neuter for your pet, thanks to a grant from the California Department of Food and Agriculture. Thanks to a sponsorship by Shear Realty, admission and parking are free.
