MWA Hosts ABCs of Water Series on September 24 Highlighting Water and Politics

(Apple Valley)– “Muddying the Water: Mixing Water & Politics” is the focus of the September 24 ABCs of Water session hosted by the Mojave Water Agency. The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 5:30 p.m. at the MWA headquarters located at 13846 Conference Center Drive in Apple Valley.

Kirby Brill, General Manager of the Mojave Water Agency will provide an overview of California water history and politics and answer questions. He will discuss the conflicts in the early 1900’s between the City of Los Angeles and farmers and ranchers in the Owens Valley, as well as water battles today between northern and southern California, and between environmentalists and farmers.

Will the upcoming water bill solve our problems? How do statewide water politics affect the Mojave Desert and our water supply? Attend this session and find out.
