(Victorville)– This Thursday, the High Desert region will be putting its best foot forward to potential investors and businesspeople at the 32nd Annual High Desert Opportunity Conference. This year, the conference committee extended significant outreach to business and investor groups throughout Southern California, and developed the program to appeal to locals as well as those from outside the High Desert.
“The High Desert Opportunity Conference has developed into a necessity for anyone looking to grow their business in the region. With groups like NAIOP [Commercial Real Estate Development Association] involved, the wealth of information and tools available to those who attend is simply invaluable”, said Chris Lamoreaux, 2013 High Desert Opportunity President.
This year’s conference features experts from companies like Red Bull, Walmart, and Farmer Boys restaurants, which have all expanded logistics, and retail operations into the High Desert in the past decade.
It will also be the first time that included in the admission is the opportunity for people to set up meetings with any representatives of the five High Desert cities and the County; but the conference offers more than simple meet and greet opportunities.
The event will be capped by the keynote speaker Todd Buchholz, a former White House economic advisor, top Wall Street hedge fund manager and bestselling author of books like New Ideas from Dead Economists and Rush.
The High Desert region boasts a population larger than the city of Oakland with a population over 440,000 people, and it includes the cities of Adelanto, Barstow, Hesperia, Victorville and the Town of Apple Valley.
“The High Desert is a region that is full of potential in the form of major travel hubs, business friendly policies and prime retail space” states Chris Lamoreaux, “The region has a potential retail purchasing power of over 5.3 billion dollars, so it’s no surprise that this conference draws significant interest from those who are looking for new markets.”
The High Desert Opportunity Conference will take place all day on October 17th, 2013, from7:30 am to 3:00 pm, at the High Desert Events Center (formerly San Bernardino County Fairgrounds) in Victorville, CA. General Admission tickets for $75 are still available for sale at www.highdesertopportunity.com <https://owa016.msoutlookonline.net/owa/redir.aspx?C=vpEFzxV23E–uSi-b5ah51PErG6KnNBI7rQvQFhoMjJPCwSnrF2w5v-zbjYISVAnJ7gJHhtyszM.&URL=http%3a%2f%2fwww.highdesertopportunity.com> .
