(Apple Valley)– The deadline for the Town of Apple Valley’s 2014 Community Calendar Photo Contest has been extended to October 15. Local amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to enter their best works that highlight what makes Apple Valley a “better way of life.”

The theme this year is “Apple Valley….Something For Everyone”. People who live, work, volunteer or attend school in Apple Valley are eligible to submit entries that highlight the fact that Apple Valley has a little something for everyone.  Through photography, help illustrate why Apple Valley was once again voted the “Best Place to Live in the High Desert”  by Daily Press readers.

The contest is open to both adults and children and recognition will be given in both professional and amateur categories. Selected contest entries may be published in our 2014 Community Calendar.

Entries showcasing the following themes are encouraged:

  • What makes Apple Valley the best place to live
  • Why you love Apple Valley
  • Your favorite Apple Valley event
  • Your favorite season in Apple Valley
  • Apple Valley’s healthy way of life
  • Apple Valley’s awesome animals
  • Water conservation practices
  • Apple Valley’s green way of life

Entries are due October 15 by 5 p.m. at Town Hall. Photos may be emailed to cengeron@applevalley.org with a completed entry form for each image. Forms can be downloaded at www.applevalley.org. Click on Departments and Services, then Public Information, then Community Calendar.
