(Victorville)–City of Victorville Mayor Jim Cox reads a proclamation to San Bernardino County Fire Department Fire Prevention Supervisor Joe Zuccaro praising him on 33 years of service to the city of Victorville.
Joe began his career with Victorville fire department in April 1980 as a paid call firefighter. He moved up the ranks and into fire prevention, serving as fire inspector, fire investigator and deputy fire marshal before moving into the county fire dept. Joe has also served his community as a board member for Desert Communities United Way, Victor Valley Sunrise Rotary Club, and the Victorville Police and Fire Activities League. Joe has two degrees from Victor Valley College (VVC), was an instructor there for 26 years, and was named to VVC Alumni Hall of Fame in 2010. He served 22 years in the Air Force and AF Reserve as a combat photographer, deploying to Antarctica, Ground Zero, and Africa (in support of Operation Enduring Freedom).
Together with his wife Lizz, they own and operate JRZ Photography. Joe was recently transferred to the North Desert Division of county fire, based out of the High Desert Government Center in Hesperia.
