A Labor Of Love: AESD Unveils New Logo Designed By Students

By Staff Reports

(Adelanto)– Adelanto Elementary School District has a new logo and it is all thanks to a group of students and their very creative minds. The students of Delvina Goslee’s 4th through 6th grades at West Creek Elementary School put their young minds together and answered the call to design a new logo by wining a district-wide contest. “I want to congratulate the students of Ms. Goslee’s class for their amazing contribution to our school district. It has been wonderful to see their vision grow into our new logo,” AESD Superintendent Dr. Lily Matos DeBlieux said. “They should be very proud of their contribution because it shows immense talent and originality.”

Upon learning the news of their design being chosen as the winner, the students of Ms. Goslee’s special needs class rejoiced full of pride. “The entire class was ecstatic!  Everyone was jumping around and dancing.  Even our quiet student in a wheelchair was laughing and carrying on with joist expressions while doing the happy dance.  The class celebrated by having an ice cream party.”

Goslee added that winning the contest has taught her students about reaching goals that can eventually be obtained in the transition to the professional world. “Contests seem to always spark the imagination for all students regardless if labeled with a disability or not.  Children tend to learn the best when given the chance to make real life connections with learning experiences.  If a child is excited about learning and being challenged at one’s own individual academic level, the memory of the experience lasts a life time.”
