(Victor Valley) – Earlier today, Rep. Paul Cook (R-Apple Valley) voted for H.R. 938, “United States-Israel Strategic Partnership Act of 2013.” Rep. Cook is a cosponsor of this legislation.

This bill strengthens the American-Israeli alliance by ensuring Israel maintains its military edge over belligerent nations in the region, enhances America’s working relationship with Israel on missile and rocket defense systems, and increases cooperation on cybersecurity issues.

Said Cook, “Israel has long been our most important ally in the Middle East. I’m proud to be a cosponsor of this vital legislation strengthening the strategic alliance between the United States and Israel. We share the common threats of terrorism and a nuclear Iran, and this bill will better equip both nations to work together against these threats.”

A member of the House Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, and Veterans’ Affairs Committees, Cook served as an infantry officer and retired after 26 years as a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his time in combat, he was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.
