(Apple Valley) – Candidate for the 33rd Assembly District, Art Bishop will host a Meet & Greet at the Idle Spurs Restaurant on Saturday, April 12 beginning at noon. “The Idle Spurs Restaurant reflects so much of the history of Barstow that it seemed a natural setting to meet the citizens of Barstow,” said Bishop. “I look forward to seeing area residents and learning how I can best serve their community should I receive the honor of representing them in the Assembly.” Bishop is a retired fire chief and currently serves as Mayor of The Town of Apple Valley.
At the Meet & Greet, Bishop will be introduced by Captain William McDaniel, USAF Retired before speaking to the gathering. The Idle Spurs Restaurant is located at 690 Old Hwy. 58, Barstow, CA. Bishop announced his candidacy for the assembly seat being vacated by Tim Donnelly in November 2013. Bishop, a 35 year resident of the High Desert has received the endorsement of Donnelly for the position. The 33rd Assembly District encompasses a wide expanse of the High Desert and the Mountains, with a population of close to half-a-million in 22 communities. Bishop, an Army veteran, lives in Apple Valley with his wife of 43 years Kathy, a retired teacher.
