(Apple Valley) – Candidate for the 33rd Assembly District, Art Bishop will participate in a Candidates Forum at Victor Valley College on Thursday, May 8 beginning at 3:30 PM. “I am looking forward to presenting my platform to the voters. I appreciate the Associated Student Body organizing this event.” said Bishop. “I look forward to seeing students and area residents and learning how I can best be of service should I receive the honor of representing them in the Assembly.” Bishop is a retired fire chief and currently serves as Mayor of The Town of Apple Valley. The event, sponsored by the VVC Associated Student Body, will feature Bishop and other 33rd Assembly District candidates. The forum will be held at the Student Activities Center at the VVC Campus in Victorville, CA. There is no charge to attend the event.
Bishop will attend another forum that evening which is open to residents of Sun City and Jess Ranch. The event will begin at 6 PM at the Aspen Clubhouse in the Sun City complex.
State Senator Steve Knight recently said of Bishop: “Art Bishop is a respected community leader, volunteer, and public servant …Art will bring conservative principles to Sacramento for positive change, work to bring jobs to our communities, and curb burdensome government regulation and excessive taxation.” Bishop welcomed this praise: “Steve Knight is a champion of conservative values whom I admire greatly.”
Bishop is campaigning for the assembly seat being vacated by Tim Donnelly. Bishop, a 35 year resident of the High Desert, received the endorsement of Donnelly. The 33rd Assembly District encompasses a wide expanse of the High Desert and the Mountains, with a population of close to half-a-million in 22 communities. Bishop, an Army veteran, lives in Apple Valley with his wife of 43 years Kathy, a retired teacher.
