(Apple Valley)– Flowers and allergies aren’t the only things that grow in the spring. The country’s pet population also blooms, filling animal shelters across America. The Town of Apple Valley Municipal Animal Shelter is no exception and has an abundance of adorable kittens available for adoption.
To help find homes for these cats and kittens, the Apple Valley Municipal Animal Shelter is offering cat adoptions for $20 in celebration of Adopt A Cat month. The offer has been extended through the end of July.
“Cat adoptions are normally $40 each,” explained Shelter Manager Gina Schwin-Whiteside. “Thanks to generous public donations received in recent months, as well as a partnership with Dr. Velasco at Bear Valley Animal Hospital, we can offer adoptions at this special rate in hopes of placing as many cats as possible into permanent, loving homes.”
Dr. Velasco has discounted his fee for spay/neuter services paid by the Town for each adopted cat. In addition to the reduced cost of adoptions, the shelter is also offering a discounted rate of $10 per microchip in June.
“Cats are the animals with the lowest return-to-owner rate at the shelter,” Said Schwin-Whiteside. “Microchipping provides owner information to assist in returning cats to their home
