(Apple Valley)– You can easily follow the progress of the much anticipated Yucca Loma Bridge with closed circuit cameras now available on-line.
Three cameras, with views from the ends of Yates and Yucca Loma roads, will capture and post still photos updated once each hour. A 24-hour time-lapse view is also available.
“In addition to providing the public a way to keep up to date on the work that is being done, the cameras offer an added layer of security,” explained Town Engineer Brad Miller. “Select members of the project team have access to continuous live video feed of the construction site. The technology used provides a clear view, even at night.”
After the January 10 ground breaking, construction officially started on the bridge on February 24. Current work includes the pouring of concrete piles as much as 90-feet deep that will support the 12 bridge piers and two abutments. Construction of sound walls should also be complete by late summer.
