(Apple Valley)— An oath of office reception will be held for returning incumbents Beverly Lowry, Mike Page, and Jim Ventura during the regular Mojave Water Agency Board Meeting on Thursday, December 11 at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place at the MWA Office located at 13846 Conference Center Drive, Apple Valley. The public is invited to attend.
Three incumbents ran unopposed in the recent November election. The MWA territory encompasses 4,900 square miles and is represented by seven elected officials. Divisions are based on population.
Among the incumbents reelected to the Board is current President Beverly Lowry. She has served on the Board for a total of 29 years. She represents Division 6 that includes the communities of Barstow, Lenwood, Oro Grande, and portions of Victorville.
Also reelected to office is Director Mike Page. He was first elected as the Division 4 Director in 2001 and has served continuously. Division 4 includes most of Victorville and Spring Valley Lake.
And Director Jim Ventura, who currently serves as the Board Treasurer, will continue to represent Division 2. He was appointed in July 2000, was later elected to office in 2001, and has served continuously. Division 2 includes the communities of Red Mountain, Kramer Junction, Hinkley, Yermo, Daggett, Newberry Springs, Lucerne Valley, Johnson Valley, Landers, Pioneer Town, Yucca Valley, and Joshua Tree.
