(Victor Valley)– In honor of National Mentoring month, Inland Empire United Way is challenging you to start off the new year by making a positive impact in the life of a student in our local community. Studies show that young people participating in quality mentoring programs are more likely to do better in school and have aspirations for college and career; they’re more equipped to make responsible decisions and model good behavior; and they’re more likely to be productive and engaged citizens – all key factors in building stronger communities.
With as little as an hour or two a week you can make a difference in the lives of youth living in the Inland Empire. Check out the various reading, tutoring, and mentoring opportunities available near you by visiting www.mentorconnection.org.
