(Apple Valley) —The Mojave Water Agency has expanded its Strategic Partners Program (SPP) and is accepting applications through January 15, 2015. Applications are available on the Alliance for Water Awareness and Conservation website at www.hdawac.org.
Established in 2003, the program provides grants to organizations that further water conservation and education in the MWA service area. Previous strategic partners include Barstow Community College, Copper Mountain College, Victor Valley College, Mojave Desert Resource Conservation District, the Mojave Environmental Education Consortium, and the Lewis Center for Educational Research.
Recent projects include: demonstration gardens, school science programs, invasive species removal, a water resource certificate program, college scholarships, and school gardens.
An online application requires applicants to provide a project description and budget, as well as detail project benefits as they relate to the goals of the Mojave Water Agency.
