(Victor Valley)– Kimberly Cox, Vice-President of the Mojave Water Agency Board is the new Chair of the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board. She was selected by her fellow board members at the January 2015 meeting, and will begin her one-year term as chair at the February 11 meeting.
Cox was first appointed to the State Board by Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. in December 2013 and reappointed in 2014.
The Lahontan Board, also known as Region Six, is one of nine regional water quality control boards in the State of California, operating under the State Water Resources Control Board. The statewide board is responsible for protecting water quality by setting regional standards, issuing waste discharge requirements, determining compliance, and taking enforcement actions within regional boundaries based on watersheds.
