(Apple Valley)– The 4th annual Heart Games, a Healthy Apple Valley event, will bring together coworkers, neighbors and friends to support a great cause, their own health! Teams of 3 to 5 will play in a race to the finish line by uncovering clues, solving puzzles and completing challenges. Think “The Amazing Race” without a passport. The event will be Saturday, February 28 at the Apple Valley Conference Center, 14975 Dale Evans Parkway.
Registration is only $10 per person. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. with the competition running from 9 a.m. to noon. Last year, more than 20 teams participated.
“Since February is National Heart Health Month, it is the perfect time to do something good for our hearts. The Heart Games has become a great way to do that,” said Lena Quinonez, Recreation Supervisor and Healthy Cities Coordinator for the Town of Apple Valley. “The day is dedicated to fun and fitness for the entire family. All checkpoints are child and senior friendly with activities that provide low-impact exercise.”
Register by submitting a team application and payment at the Parks and Recreation Department at Town Hall by February 11. As tradition suggests, teams are encouraged to dress-up for a chance to win a prize.
