(Victor Valley)– San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Vice Chairman Robert Lovingood has appointed community leader Eric Negrete to the County Veterans Advisory Committee.
“Eric is a proven leader with a business background as well as experience with both the Air Force and the Army,” Lovingood said.
Elected to the Victorville City Council in 2014, Negrete earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and a master’s degree in management from Troy State University.
He provides subject matter expertise to support the Fort Irwin Command Group and is recognized as a trusted advisor to Fort Irwin and Department of Army staff. His current projects include a 58,000-square-foot aviation hangar and a 15-megawatt solar plant at Fort Irwin.
“I look forward to serving on the Veterans’ Advisory Committee,” Negrete said. “As an Air Force veteran and an Army civilian project manager, my family has a long history of service to our country, and I enjoy making a positive contribution to my community.”
Negrete is scheduled to join Lovingood and Congressman Paul Cook at the Supervisor’s Veterans Resource Fair from 10 am to 2 p.m., Thursday, May 28 at the Courtyard Marriott, 9619 Mariposa Road in Hesperia. The event will feature a variety of veterans benefits, assistance from VA staff members, job recruiters and more.
