(Victor Valley)– From May 23rd to 31st, the San Bernardino County Fair once again comes to Victorville and the High Desert Community, with new attractions and a stellar concert line up to boot.
Kicking off the fair is a first for the High Desert, as the world-renowned monster truck Bigfoot will be featured in Monster Truck Mayhem on Saturday, May 23rd. “The Fair is excited to announce the opportunity to see him in side by side, ‘Chicago Style’ racing,” said Fair C.E.O. Geoff Hinds. “With BIGFOOT, and Chicago style racing, this will be unlike any other Monster Truck show you’ve seen at the Fairgrounds in the past”.
For fans of the always-pleasing concert line up the fair offers, this year is no different. From rock to county to Christian rock crossover, 2015 brings a wide variety of performers to the High Desert. The concert series kicks off with on Thursday, May 28th, with Christian rock crossover group FireFlight. Fresh of the release of their new album, INNOVA, and their first single off the album, “Resuscitate”, held the #1 spot on the Billboard charts for 12 weeks. Thursday night’s Concert Series opener will also feature a special opening set by the High Desert’s own DaysEye, straight off their national Tour in 2014.
Another well-known performer for 2015 is the Grammy, ACA, CMA and ASCAP award-winning artist Kellie Pickler. Pickler is best known for her time on American Idol, as well as from winning Dancing with the Stars season 16. Closing out the fair on May 30th, audience members will be able to see a performance by the multi-platinum rock group Great White. Known for songs like “Rock Me” and “Once Bitten, Twice Shy”, the band will end the fair in style with the infamous 80’s rock band.
If you are a fan of the rides you can only see at a fair, then you want to get in line for the newest attraction, The Big Splash. Big Splash is a portable flume ride, the newest ride built by the French thrill ride manufacturer Reverchon. “Adding a wet attraction to our ride line up, especially for Victorville is very exciting for our family,” said Davey Helm, eldest son of owners Dave and Debby Helm and Operations Manager for the company. “We can’t wait to see the reaction on people’s faces when they see it – it’s enormous!” He continued.
Of course, this is all just the tip of the iceberg, as the fair always brings so much in the short time they visit the desert. To purchase tickets now and for more information, visit www.SBCFAIR.com or call 760-951-2200.
