(Victorville)— Jim Brulte, Chairman of the California Republican Party since March 2013, will speak Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Victorville at the first joint event sponsored by The Victor Valley Republican Club (VVRC) and the Hi-Desert Republican Women, Federated (HDRWF).
Brulte, is expected to speak about issues effecting and impacting California’s Republican Party. “Energizing the volunteers in the High-Desert is essential for our success,” said Brulte. Looking ahead he states that “the re-election of Congressman Paul Cook and Assemblyman Jay Olbernolte are critical to our 2016 efforts.”
“The theme for HDRWF this year is Republican’s United”, said Valerie Emick, President of the HDRWF. “This event, co-hosted by HDRWF and VVRC, is a perfect example of what we are trying to achieve. I believe we have the ability and the willingness to work together as one,” she added.
Brulte, who served in the California State Assembly and State Senate and was the only freshman ever elected leader of his party in BOTH houses of the legislature. Prior to the election of Governor Schwarzenegger, he was described as “arguably the most powerful elected Republican in California.” He’ll need his political acumen to convince voters a Republican mandate is better for the state’s future.
In a county where registered Democratic voters outnumber Republicans by a mere 30, 474 voters (38%—322,974 as compared to 34%—292,500), in the First Supervisorial District which covers most of the Victor Valley, Republicans take the lead by an even slimmer margin (61,122—36.9% as compared to 55,853—33.8%).
“The California Republican Party has spent far too many years in the political wilderness, we are looking forward to hearing Mr. Brulte’s assessment about our party’s current situation and his belief about the path he believes we must follow to escape those dark environs,” said Ric Williams, President of the Victor Valley Republican Club.
The Brulte dinner is scheduled 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Victorville, and tickets are $50 per person or $90 per couple. Reservations must be made by April 27; for more information call (760) 946-5300.
