(Victor Valley)– The San Bernardino County Library invites you to travel to outer space and sign up for our Summer Reading Program. Throughout the summer, we will be hosting out-of-this-world programs and activities as well as giving away awesome prizes at all 32 of our branch libraries.
Participating is easy. Zoom in to your local San Bernardino County Library to sign up and become a part of our read for rewards program. You can earn amazing incentives each week just for logging what you have read in your Summer Reading log.
The Summer Reading Program is open to all ages so come on in and sign the whole family up. The best part is this program is absolutely free!
The fun doesn’t stop there. We are also offering special opportunity drawings for children and teens who meet the County Library Reading Challenge.
The children’s challenge is to read at least 45 books or the equivalent in pages or minutes throughout the summer. Teens must read at least eight books or the equivalent. Also, for every 25 books adults and children check out this summer, they’ll receive another opportunity to enter and win.
Grand prize winners will receive Nook HD+ tablets, a Wii U gaming system, a children’s bike and a Star Wars Lego Death Star set. Kids who wear their Summer Reading Program shirts to the programs are eligible to win a large inflatable space shuttle – the Library’s vehicle of choice this summer!
Reading for rewards is just the beginning. The Library will be hosting various programs of galactic proportions throughout the summer including story times with special themes, space-themed crafts, and wonderful performers that range from magicians to balloon shows to jugglers and more.
That’s not all – this year, two of our branches will have visitors from space right inside the Library. From June 5 through 20, we invite you to visit the Lewis Library in Fontana or the Hesperia Branch Library to see our moon man, who stands 30 feet tall and our UFO which is 20 feet wide. Come see them before they leave our galaxy!
The San Bernardino County Library system is a dynamic network of 32 branch libraries that serves a diverse population over a vast geographic area.
