(Victorville) – The Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District is now soliciting applications to fill two vacancies on its Hearing Board, an independent, quasi-judicial body responsible for hearing cases pertaining to permit issues, variances and abatement orders affecting businesses and industry located in the High Desert portion of San Bernardino County and Riverside County’s Palo Verde Valley.
Applications are currently being accepted to fill vacancies on the MDAQMD’s Hearing Board in the following categories: (1) Health Related Field Member and (2) Engineering. Health Related applicants must be members of the medical profession, with specialized skills, training, or interests in the fields of environmental, community or occupational/toxicologic medicine.
Engineering applicants must be registered as Professional Engineers, pursuant to the Professional Engineers Act (Chapter 7 (commencing with section 6700) of Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code).
The five-member Hearing Board, which is appointed by the MDAQMD’s Governing Board, meets on an “as needed” basis, generally once a month. Hearing Board members receive a per diem of $100 plus mileage for each meeting they attend.
Interested parties may submit a letter of interest, along with qualifications and history of experience, to the MDAQMD offices located at 14306 Park Avenue, Victorville, CA, 92392- 2310.
