The 1st period was off to a rocky start for the Ducks, as Carolina’s Jeff Skinner scored the lone goal in the 1st period at 16:05 with the assist from Hainsey. Skinner would strike again in the 2nd, at 11:35 with assists from Rask and Di Giuseppe. The Hurricanes continued their hotstreak as Elias Lindholm scored on a Power Play at 16:53 with assists from Staal and Faulk. The Ducks would get on the board in the 3rd period, as Jakob Silfverberg scored at 14:09 with assists from Vatanen and Rakell. This would be the only score the Ducks land, as Jordan Staal scored at 16:43 with assists from Nestrasil and Faulk. It would be the Jeff Skinner show, as the Hurricane winger would land his third goal of the night at 17:36 on an empty goal with assists by Pesce and Lack. The Ducks would fall 5-1 in Anaheim.
