(Victor Valley)– The Division of Environmental Health Services will reopen for business on Monday, Dec. 14., but the division’s employees will remain on leave. Temporary staff will be available to handle the division’s duties.
Environmental Health Services offices were closed following the Dec. 2 tragedy in San Bernardino, which directly impacted a vast majority of the division’s employees and deeply affected the other employees.
The County has made it clear that no one affected by the Dec. 2 tragedy will be required to return to work before they are physically and emotionally ready. The County’s focus has been on providing services to the victims and families of the deceased, and making counseling available to any County employee who feels affected by the incident.
The Environmental Health Services offices in San Bernardino and Rancho Cucamonga are closed indefinitely. Work will be performed from temporary locations. Beginning on Monday morning, EHS services are available by calling (800) 442-2283 or by visiting http://www.sbcounty.gov/dph/dehs/.
