(Victorville) – St. Mary High Desert Medical Group continues to expand services – adding outpatient pulmonary services as a new specialty to the group and welcoming five new physicians over recent months – representing pulmonology, family medicine and sports medicine/orthopedic surgery. The following five physicians join St. Mary High Desert Medical Group, which partners with the St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare medical practice foundation and St. Joseph Health, St Mary Medical Center:
Ricardo Gomez, MD – Pulmonology
Dr. Ricardo Gomez is a board-certified pulmonologist who specializes in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of lung conditions and diseases, from chronic bronchitis to cystic fibrosis. He earned his medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College and completed his residency and internship at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. Dr. Gomez combines today’s most effective therapies with compassionate, individualized care for a wide range of illnesses that affect the lungs and breathing, such as: asthma, COPD, emphysema, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension and occupational lung disease.
Afshin Arianjam, MD – Orthopedic Surgery/Sports Medicine
Dr. Arianjam is a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon who specializes in treating orthopedic injuries. He received his Doctor of Medicine from USC Keck School of Medicine and completed his residency through the San Francisco Orthopedic residency program. During his Orthopedic Sports Medicine fellowship training, Dr. Arianjam helped take care of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Major League Baseball, and high school and various college athletes throughout Southern California. Dr. Arianjam has also performed extensive clinical research – his work includes a ten year follow-up study on the outcomes of the arthroscopic remplissage, a now widely used procedure for shoulder instability. Dr. Arianjam has also worked with a national community based ACL registry to identify which techniques give patients the best outcomes for Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction.
Malini Kethireddy, MD – Family Medicine
Dr. Malini Kethireddy comes to St. Mary High Desert Medical Group with more than 14 years of experience. Specializing in caring for all ages with a focus in family medicine, diabetes and hypertension, Dr. Kethireddy enjoys teaching patients what is needed so they can understand their diagnosis and live well. Dr. Kethireddy completed her family medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a fellowship in obstetrics at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
Mirelle Marquez, MD – Family Medicine
Dr. Mirelle Marquez is a board-certified family medicine physician and dedicated to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate patient care and enjoys keeping the community healthy so they can enjoy life. Dr. Marquez completed her family medicine residency at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pennsylvania. She enjoys the process of educating her patients on their medical conditions and appropriate treatment options so they can be knowledgeable participants in their own health care.
Hanan Alnaaj, MD– Family Medicine
Dr. Alnaaj is a board-certified family medicine physician with over 25 years of experience. She specializes in diabetes and treating the whole family. She enjoys the process of educating her patients on their medical conditions, and appropriate treatments options so they can be knowledgeable participants in their own health care. She chose family medicine because of its focus on people of all ages, and enjoys being able to see patients from multiple generations within a family.
With the new addition of specialty services and physicians at St. Mary High Desert Medical Group, residents will have more choices when selecting long-term health care closer to home. The medical group currently offers its patients same day appointments, a free after-hours Nurse Advice Line, free patient portal to communicate directly with their provider and urgent care with another urgent care opening up in early 2016.
