Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee Applications

(Victorville) – The Board of Trustees of the Victor Elementary School District is seeking qualified, interested volunteers to fill several vacancies on the Citizens’ Oversight Committee.  This committee oversees the Measure E School Facilities Bond program.

In accordance with Education Code Section 15278(b), the responsibilities of the committee include: to inform the public concerning the District’s expenditure of Measure E bond proceeds; to review expenditure reports produced by the District to ensure that Measure E bond proceeds were expended only for the purposes set forth in Measure E; and to present to the Governing Board, in public session, an annual written report outlining their activities and conclusions regarding the expenditure of Measure E bond proceeds.

Specifically, the committee must include at least one member who is a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district; one member must be both a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district and active in a parent-teacher organization such as P.T.A. or a school site council; one member active in a business organization representing the business community located in the district; one member active in a senior citizens’ organization; and one member active in a bona-fide taxpayers association.
