(Adelanto)— The High Desert community is one full of talented individuals passionate about their home city or town. Taylion High Desert Academy looks to emphasize the importance of having staff from the community as they seek teachers in both Adelanto and Victorville.

“I think it’s a terrific idea if we could recruit teachers who live in Adelanto to teach in Adelanto,” said Adelanto Mayor Rich Kerr.  “Taylion Charter Academy is looking for teachers who are vested in the community, teachers who understand community issues and challenges and therefore have a greater sensitivity towards Adelanto students.”

Taylion High Desert Academy is a free public charter school, serving grades Kindergarten through 12th grade, with programs in home school, virtual school and independent study. With locations currently in Victorville, Adelanto and San Bernardino, the WASC accredited school has been growing rapidly, which calls for an increase in highly qualified, California credentialed teachers.

“We love the community we are in,” said Timothy Smith, Executive Director for Taylion High Desert Academy. “We see all the great community members and leaders out here, and we would love to increase our workforce with the skilled educators in the cities of Adelanto and Victorville.”
