(Apple Valley)– The Apple Valley Animal Services Department has announced the 2016 schedule for its low-cost rabies vaccination clinics. The first session was held at the Town’s municipal animal shelter on Wednesday, February 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. Rabies shots are $6 each and other vaccines are available at a reduced cost. Microchip services are only $20. Cash only please. Same-day license renewal is offered for town residents only.
Additional vaccination clinics have been scheduled every other month in 2016. All clinics will be held on Wednesdays at the shelter from 5 to 7 p.m.:
The municipal animal shelter is located at 22131 Powhatan Road just east of Quinault Road. Vaccinations, licensing, adoptions and more will be offered at this year’s Paws N’ Claws Pet Fair on October 22. Vaccination pricing ranges from $6 to $15. Low-income families may also qualify.
The pet fair is only one of several special events the shelter hosts to increase awareness about responsible pet ownership and raise funds to help defray the cost of adoptions, micro chips, medical expenses and more. The miniature golf-themed Fur Ball will be held on April 2. The annual Cruisin’ Fur Critters Poker Run will take place this summer and three Junior Pet Keeper Camps have been scheduled to take place during the spring, summer and fall school breaks.
