Bluegrass in the Spring Returns to Calico Ghost Town

(Yermo) – Mother’s Day weekend, May 6-8, Calico Ghost Town will hold its annual Bluegrass in the Spring Festival featuring many bluegrass and country artists.

Among the featured performers are Burning Heart Bluegrass, Lilies of the West, Virtual Strangers, Back Porch Bluegrass, and S.W.B.A. Bluegrass Kids. Rocky Neck Bluegrass Band will open and Nu-Blu will headline the main event concert Saturday at 6 p.m. in Calico’s Siver Bowl.

Other acts include James Reams and the Barnstromers, Chris Cerna and the Bluegrass Republic, and The Billhillyz. Additional family entertainment will include the Bon Family Cloggers and Pig Racing Show, and blacksmith demos.

Southwest Bluegrass Association will host a Friday Night Jam, May 6 at 7 p.m. in the Campground “A” amphitheater. Camping is available and may be booked by calling (877) 38-PARKS.

The Calico Town and shops will be open Saturday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Entrance to the festival is $15 for adults, $10 for kids ages 6-15, and kids 5 and under are FREE.
