(Victor Valley)—The Blue Cut Fire continued to burn Thursday as firefighters would not let up against the dangerous blaze. With the fire at 35,696 acres and now at 22 percent containment according to Cal Fire, some evacuations were lifted Thursday afternoon. The day also saw a decrease in smoke, leading to many schools to announce that they will indeed be open on Friday.

Effective Thursday August 18, at 1:00 p.m., the mandatory evacuation orders and advisories for residents in the areas east of I-15 to Santa Fe/Summit Valley Road, south of Ranchero Road to Highway 138, affected by the Blue Cut Fire have been lifted.

Santa Fe/Summit Valley Road and Arrowhead Lake Road/Hwy173 will be opened.

The North and South bound lanes of the I-15 are reopened as well.

Hwy 138 will continue to be closed at I15 East to Summit Valley Road.

Out of the school districts, three will continue to be closed on August 19th: Snowline, Hesperia and Adelanto Districts will all remain closed.

The Northbound and Southbound lanes of the I-15 are reopened as well.

Below is important information on the fire from Inciweb, including road openings, closures, evacuation areas and more.
