(Victorville)– The City of Victorville Office of Emergency Services & The San Bernardino County Fire Department- Emergency Communications Service is offering a Ham Radio Class on October 8 and 9 at Victorville City Hall. This class is open to anyone interested in learning emergency communications techniques.

- Radio- to Radio and Repeater Operations.
- Voice Over the Internet (use computers as a radio link).
- Amateur Satellite Communications.
- Live Demonstrations of How to Use a Radio.
*Please Note: Although the class is fun and low-stress, it is an accelerated course. As such, it is highly recommended that you read the study guide and book prior to attending the class to ensure your success.
When: Saturday October 8 and Sunday October 9, 2016 (both days)
Where: Victorville City Hall Conference Room D

Time: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm (1/2 hour lunch)
Cost: $35/person – Must be paid at least one week before class at the Victorville City Hall cashiers’

Testing: The FCC Technician Exam will be offered as part of the class (96% pass rate).
A study guide is provided as part of the class. There is also a book required for the class and may be purchased from Amazon or Ham Radio Outlet.
