High School Students Sought for Supervisor Lovingood’s Youth Advisory Council

(Victor Valley)– Supervisor Robert A. Lovingood is seeking enthusiastic high school students interested government and community serve and would like to be a part of the Youth Advisory Council.

Youth Council participants will help Supervisor Lovingood to identify and research important and relevant issues. Participation on the council also gives students an opportunity to become involved in their communities and learn about their County Government. The Youth Advisory Council Members will also participate in local volunteer activities and events.

Applications for the Youth Advisory Council are now available for the 2016-17 school year. All high school students in the First District with a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible to apply. The Youth Advisory Council will meet monthly September through April in Victorville. The final meeting will take place at a Board of Supervisor’s meeting in San Bernardino. Students must provide their own transportation to and from meetings.   Students serving on the council are required to attend at least five meetings, complete two community service volunteer opportunities and must have the consent of a parent to participate.
