(Hesperia)– On Wednesday September 7th 2016, a dedication was made for the two new dog amenities in the Dog Park at Lime Street Park, donated by the Rotary Club of the High Desert. The park, located at 16292 Lime Street in Hesperia, provides two areas for your dog to play: one for larger dogs, (25 lbs. or more), and one for smaller dogs, (under 25 lbs.). Both the large and the small dog section each received sturdy new hoops to jump through, making a day at the park more entertaining and exciting for dogs and owners alike.
The Dog Park, located on the northwest side of Lime Street Park, allows you to enjoy time with your furry family member. It gives your pooch the opportunity to get out and “Get Active!” while meeting and socializing with other canines. Each area has a watering station, access to a pet waste station, and a bench for owners to sit in the shade and watch their dogs. The Park District has posted Dog Park rules along with Dog Park Etiquette to help park users enjoy their visit.
The funds for purchasing the new equipment were derived from proceeds of the Annual Pet Walk at Hesperia Civic Plaza Park. This is the 2nd year that the Rotary Club of the High Desert has donated new dog equipment to the Dog Park and Rhonda Pfeiffer, President of the Rotary Club of the High Desert, commented that they hope to continue to add more amenities each year.
The Hesperia Recreation and Park District would like to thank the Rotary Club of the High Desert for partnering with us to provide this equipment for our dear pets. They look forward to watching the Dog Park flourish. Please go to www.HesperiaParks.com to see other parks, facilities, and future events.
