(Victor Valley)—With the holidays right around the corner, Taylion High Desert Academy’s Student Council has kicked off a food drive to assist families in need of a Thanksgiving meal.

“Students, parents and staff see that there are families that could really benefit from a food drive, especially during the upcoming holiday season,” said Nolan Smith, Student Council Advisor for Taylion High Desert Academy (THDA). “This is our way of doing what we can to help those right here in our High Desert community.”

The Student Council is seeking donations of non-perishable canned or boxed food, as well as funds to purchase turkeys or chickens to complete a Thanksgiving meal. Donations needed include canned vegetables, canned gravy, boxed mashed potatoes, boxed stuffing, boxed cornbread or biscuit mix, water, juice and more. Donations will be crafted into gift boxes, with contents for a complete meal for a family.

Collection boxes can be found at both the Victorville and Adelanto Taylion Academy locations. Donations will be accepted up to November 17th.

For more information regarding the food drive, please contact Nolan Smith at (760) 843-6622 or by email at nolan.smith@taylion. For more information on Taylion Academy, visit them online at www.taylion.com.
