(Victor Valley)– VVTA will participate in the Great California ShakeOut earthquake drill Thursday, October 20, 2016. A one-minute service disruption will be experienced system wide at 10:20 a.m. Victor Valley College bus stops will not be serviced between 9:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

As an alternative to the VVC stops, a temporary bus stop on Francesca Road west of Spring Valley Lake Road will serve Routes 43, 45, 45X, 53, and 55 during this time.

At 10:20 a.m., dispatchers will make an announcement, and all transit vehicles will pull over to nearest safe location and secure the vehicle for approximately 60 seconds. The driver will instruct passengers to turn toward the aisles and place arms over head for protection. Once the drill is complete, the driver will continue the regular trip.

The Great California ShakeOut is part of a nation-wide earthquake drill organized to educate Californians about the importance of preparing for earthquakes. Visit ShakeOut.org for more information. VVTA is committed to customer safety.
