(Apple Valley)– VVAPL Humane Society’s Third Annual Dry Dog and Cat Food Drive is off to a good start thanks to two large donations.

The Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley has supported VVAPL since 1990. In the beginning, the members would put money in a coffee can and use it to purchase pet food. About ten years ago, those modest donations increased after partnering with Apple Valley Feed Bin. Thanks to the partnership, this year’s pet food donation is 1,000 pounds.

The food drive runs through December 31. Once they reach their goal of 7,500 pounds of food, VVAPL will offer FREE dog and cat adoptions until the end of the year. (Check website for restrictions and program details.)
