(Victor Valley)– A winter storm is bringing periods of heavy snow above 6,000 feet today, Thursday, Jan. 12.
Although traffic support will be available in Wrightwood, visitors are advised that parking along Highway 2 is prohibited.
Snow play on private property is not permitted.
Public restrooms are available at the Community Building area at the corner of Highway 2 and Park in Wrightwood.
Plan for heavy traffic delays and please do not leave litter behind.
The National Weather Service predicts most widespread snow will run through 6 p.m. Thursday. Snow combined with dense fog will create hazardous driving conditions. The snow will transition to scattered snow showers this evening, according to the National Weather Service. The winter storm warning will remain in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday.
Snow accumulation is expected to be between 1 and 5 inches between 5,000 and 6,000 feet. Wrightwood’s elevation is 5,935. At elevations of 6,000 to 8,000 feet, snow accumulations are expected to be 5 to 10 inches.
