(Victor Valley)– Over the holidays, St. Mary Director of Respiratory Services Vivian Brooks rallied a coat drive to try and have 20 coats donated to give to the less fortunate. The response from the community was far greater than she could have imagined.
When it was over, St. Mary employees, volunteers and friends donated more 250 coats, 115 hats, scarves and gloves. Hospital staff and leaders hung the donations on the fence outside of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
The donations were free for any of those in the area to take that needed them to stay warm.
