(Victor Valley) – High Desert Homeless Services (HDHS) provides shelter, food, and resources to homeless men, women, and children in the San Bernardino County.
HDHS needs community support in order to continue to provide the extensive services and in the future, grow to serve even more people in need. The shelter has several needs including a late-model, low-mileage, carpool van to transport the clients to and from interviews, and to pick up potential clients who may not otherwise have a ride to the shelter. A box truck is also a big need and a larger thrift store to help raise funds to eventually be able to move into a larger facility.
Fundraisers help HDHS to continue paying the high-costs associated with running a shelter that provides for all of the needs of 55 clients. The next fundraiser will be a Bunco Tournament on Saturday, May 13, 2017, from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. The cost will be $20 and will include food, drink, prizes, and fun for all who attend. The Bunco Tournament will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 16138 Molino Drive in the City of Victorville.
HDHS is also seeking businesses willing to show support by donating a prize and/or becoming a cash sponsor. Call (760) 245-5991 for additional information or for reservations.
